ABOUT
CAREER AND EXPERIENCE
Todd has more than 25 years experience as a marketing and communications executive in higher education and government. In those roles, he also has served on the budget, risk management and community relations governance bodies. He is now director of communications strategy for UCHealth, the only Colorado-based, academic nonprofit health system, which includes the UCHealth Broomfield Hospital among 13 other hospitals.
Todd's prior experience and qualifications include:
Led communications and outreach at Great Outdoors Colorado, a statewide agency devoted to land conservation and outdoor recreation.
Served as marketing and communications director at the University of Kansas, a flagship public research university with 28,000 students, and as associate vice president of marketing communications for Regis University, a Jesuit institution with a mission of service to others and social justice.
Served on panels for budget, risk management, ADA compliance and on the advisory board for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Certified at FEMA’s National Emergency Training Center/Emergency Management Institute.
Former newspaper reporter and editor.

COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE
Todd was appointed to fill a vacant Ward 5 council seat in July 2021. He was elected to a full term in November 2021 with 54 percent of the vote. He defeated a recall attempt in 2023 that criticized his support for gun safety measures that banned open carry and strengthen the red flag law in Broomfield. On council, Todd has been willing to make the
tough decisions that promote public safety, improve public health and help ensure an environmentally sustainable and fiscally responsible future.
EDUCATION
Todd earned bachelor's degrees in journalism and political science from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in public administration at the University of Washington in Seattle.
He and his wife, a public school teacher, have two grown children (both graduates of Legacy High School) and one elderly dachshund.
